PROSPECT OF MICRO-MAGNETORESISTANCE SENSORS FOR SPACE APPLICATION

Small satellite is the trend of space technology,and the traditional space payloads is limited by the weight、power consumption、volume and costs.Magnetoresistive（MR） sensors are more suitable for small satellite on the commercial road with the virtue of low power consumption、slight、small size and lower costs than the magnetic fluxgate.For the spacecraft with strict mass、size and costs,MR sensors exhibits extensive potential.This paper presents the needs of space magnetic fields measurements、the techniques and the space applications roadmap for MR sensors briefly,and also points out the directions for MR sensors in space applications.
