REVIEW OF THE CHARGING ENVIRONMENT AND EFFECT EXPECTED IN LUNAR MISSION

  • In lunar exploration, spacecrafts encounter with various plasma environments, which results in the appearance of charging effects in spacecraft surface and internal material.Charging effects degrade the spacecraft operational properties, lifetime, and reliability. This paper reviews the in-orbit data reported by outlanders, and then analyzes the plasma conditions and the expected charging effects during lunar mission. It has referenced value in the design process of scientific detectors parameters selection and of charging/discharging protection.
