Abstract
The power conversion efficiency of solar cells remains in a low level and is very difficult for further improvement.Relatively,a better transparent conductor may be a simple and effective way to improve the performance of solar cells.Graphene,a monolayer of sp2 bonded carbon atoms in a honeycomb lattice with thickness of 0.34 nm and super high carrier mobility, has the ability of reducing the influence of the trade-off between optical transmittance and electrical conductivity greatly, and therefore to replace the current commercial standard, indium tin oxide(ITO).The chemical doping can reduce the sheet resistance of graphene and adjust the workfunction to a proper value. This paper discusses the feasibility of graphene as solar cells’ transparent conductor.
