INVESTIGATION OF SURFACE CHARGE DISTRIBUTION OF DIELECTRIC UNDER ENERGETIC ELECTRON BEAM IRRADIATION

  • The interaction of space plasma and spacecraft can produce charge accumulation on spacecraft surface dielectric material then cause discharge,which are the major cause of spacecraft abnormities on orbit.In order to further understand the spacecraft charging,based on electrostatic capacitance principle this paper describes an improved method which could measure the charge distribution on dielectric under irradiating of Energetic Electron Beam.Then with this method the charge distribution on dielectric surface of satellites is measured under energetic electron beam irradiation.The work can provide the perspective of the spacecraft charging problem.
