DISCHARGE CHARACTERISTICS EXPERIMENT RESEARCH ON DIFFERENT AREA OF KAPTON MATERIAL

  • Spacecraft surface materials will discharge in the space plasma environment. The discharge induced transient pulse can cause serious problems to the safety and reliability of spacecraft. Through the discharge experiment of 125 μm Kapton temperature control material of different areas, Measurement of discharge induced transient pulse and analysis of its law, results show that the discharge waveform of the 4~36 cm2 Kapton material and the 64~225 cm2 Kapton materials appear relatively large differences, and with the increasing material area, discharge peak current, discharge pulse duration, discharge released charge and the discharge frequency increase accordingly. Through the research on the discharge characteristics of Kapton materials, to provide data support for the spacecraft charging protection and discharge hazard assessment.
