PROGRESS OF SPACE ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECT AND MECHANISM RESEARCH BY VACUUM ULTRAVIOLET ON THE NONMETALLIC MATERIAL

  • The paper provided a progress report of the development of space environment effect induced by vacuum ultraviolet(VUV)on the nonmetallic material, such as silicone rubber, polyimide, etc. Results showed that VUV could rupture the molecule bond, which enhanced the outgassing performance and dramatically reduced the optical properties. In addition, the paper also summarized the theory of space environment effect. The mechanism of VUV and the nonmetallic material was researched by FTIR and XPS.Based on the molecular contamination and irradiation chemistry theory, the mass loss model and contamination model were founded.By contrast with the domestic and International research on the aspect,it was suggested that the space environmental effect simulation analysis should be enhanced by domestic researchers.
