A NEW METHOD FOR COLLECTING COSMIC DUST WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE

  • This paper explains the basic concepts, related definitions and significance about the technique for collecting cosmic dust with minimal damage, and summarizes the latest research and application statues in this field. Herein, we propose a new method for cosmic dust collection, presenting its working principle. Meanwhile, we studied the analytical methods for the design and selection of the buffer materials which are used to make the core part for the collector probe. In addition, SPH(Smoothing Particle Hydrodynamics) was used to simulate the colleting process. The results provide the theoretical basis and fundamental analytical method for future research in this area.
