EFFECTS OF CNTs/TiO2 CONTENT ON THE PROPERTIES OF THE COMPOSITE PLATING

  • CNTs/TiO2 compound powders were synthesized by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition. Composite powders were dispersed into the plating solution.Composite coatings were grown on the stainless steel by electrodeposition. The surface morphology, hardness and corrosion resistance of composite coating were analyzed. The effects of the CNTs/TiO2 compound powders on the properties of compositie and deposition rate were investigated with method of scanning electron microscopy, hardness testing and eletrochemical testing. The results show that the addition of CNTs/TiO2 compound powders can improved hardness, the corrosion resistance and the deposition rate of composite coatings, the deposition rate, the corrosion resistance and hardness of composite coating will reach an optimum value when composite powers content is 0.2 g/L; its coarseness increased as the contents of the solution compound powders increased.
