THE INFLUENCE OF OPERATION PARAMETERS AND REGENERATOR ON PERFORMANCE OF STIRLING ENGINE

  • The adiabatic model of Stirling engine was built and its simulation solution method was introduced. The study analysed the effect to the Stirling engine performance of different operation parameters(the charge pressure and the operating frequency), regenerator volume and regenerator average temperature and the results were discussed. It is showed that increasing the charge pressure and operating frequency contributes to the enhancement of output power. Otherwise, increasing the volume of regenerator in axial direction which the porosity is a constant would decrease the output power. Moreover, reducing the average temperature of regenerator would lead to the more violent fluctuate of temperature of the expansion and compression space. The study could provide some guidance for the optimization of Stirling engine performance.
