THE STUDY OF HIGH POWER PLASMA ELECTRIC PRPULSION TECHNOLOGY

  • Field Reversed Configuration(FRC)plasma thruster with high specific impulse,long lifetime,large thrust,high power and high efficiency is the best choice for space exploration.The significant advantages of FRC plasma thruster has been shown according to the comparisons of the main high power thrusters in the world at present.On the basis of the structure and working principle of FRC,the key technologies such as the production of FRC plasma with high power,the confinement and control of the plasma,the test system on ground are extracted.The development trend of the FRC plasma thruster is predicted by the view of the advancement of its performance,and which provides a reference for the research of the high power plasma thruster.
