DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-PERFORMANCES ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEM AND THE APPLICATION ON GEO SATELLITE PLATFORMS

  • Electric propulsion is widely used on GEO satellites abroad.Based on a comprehensive investigation in development of foreign electric propulsion system,applications of electric propulsion system with high-performance were presented in details for GEO satellite platforms,and characters of its application were summarized.The GEO satellite platform mainly uses the electrostatic accelerating ion electric propulsion system.The electric propulsion system used by GEO satellite platforms tend to be high power and multi-mode electric propulsion system.GEO satellite platform electric propulsion system application process are three stages.According its application characteristics,the application of high performance electric propulsion system in GEO satellite platform is put forward to finish the high performance and multi-mode electric propulsion system.The ground simulation and in-orbit flight verification should be strengthened to ensure the reliability of the system.electric propulsion system in the GEO satellite platform should be developed step by step,to carry out international cooperation to speed up the application of electric propulsion system in the GEO satellite platform.
