Suspension Potential Monitoring and Control System and Ground Test Verification of Space Station

  • :China's space station uses 100 V high voltage battery array. In the space plasma environment,it will generate about 90%of the structural potential of the solar array. When the space station runs in low orbit, the structural potential of the space station will reach 90 V.This potential will endanger astronaut's life when they leave the cabin. Therefore, the active potential control system of the space station is developed. The system is used to control the structural potential of the space station from 100 V to 36 V to ensure the safe exit of the astronauts. In order to truly simulate the on-orbit working condition of active potential control system, ground air supply and voltage regulation are realized by electric propulsion system, and active potential control system is used for potential monitoring and control.Equivalent experimental method was established in the ground vacuum environment to simulate the discharge conditions of 100 V live cabin and active potential control system.A full-system ground test of active potential control system and electric propulsion system was carried out.The test results are described and summarized. The on-orbit control effect of active potential control system is verified. The analysis shows that the suspension potential can be controlled to-16.7 V when active potential control system and electric propulsion system work, which meets the requirements of astronauts.
