Research Progress of Hollow Cathode Micro Thruster

  • The hollow cathode micro thruster produces high-density plasma through the hollow cathode discharge,and then ejects it to generate the corresponding thrust,which is small in volume,simple in structure,small in development difficulty and low in cost,so it is very suitable for the electric propulsion system of micro satellite.The system composition and working principle of hollow cathode micro-thruster are summarized.The research progress and development status of hollow cathode micro-thruster at home and abroad are introduced.The performance parameters and characteristics of hollow cathode micro-thruster with different structures are analyzed.Preliminary discussions were held on key technologies and future trends.
