Design and Experimental Research of a Miniature Lightweight Linear Compressor

  • To meet the demands of large array and two-color infrared detector applications,a miniature moving mag-netic linear compressor was developed. This compressor is driven by moving-magnetic type linear compressor and support-ed by flexure springs.Lightweight design was completed based on the finite element analysis and dynamic analysis,at the same time the effect of piston diameters and strokes upon the performance of the compressor was studied, also the magnetic circuit and key structural components were designed and optimized. When this 787 g weight compressor was tested with a Stirling cold finger, the experimental results showed that its cooling capacity could achieve 1.3 W@77 K with input power of 35.6 W,while the specific mass< 0.73 kg/W and the relative efficiency of Carnot is 14.1%.
