Optimization and Experiment of Regenerator for 250 W Single-stage G-M Cryocooler at 70 K

  • To meet the demand of large cooling capacity for high temperature superconducting cable and other high temperature superconducting application equipment, the author takes the cooling capacity of 250 W@70 K as the research target, the design optimization and experimental research for the G-M regenerator are carried out.Based on the numerical simulation software Regen, the effect of the structure size of the regenerator, the mass flow of the cold end and the filling method of regenerator on the refrigeration performance are analyzed. The experimental system is setted up to test performance of prototype. The results show that this single-stage G-M cryocooler can obtain the lowest temperature of 23.5 K,and 243 W cooling capacity at 70 K.
