Numerical Simulation of a New Magnetic Refrigeration System Using Thermoelectric Refrigeration Elements

  • A two-dimensional transient model of a new magnetic refrigeration system using thermoelectric refrigera-tion elements was established using COMSOL Multiphysics.The effects of input current,utilization factor,and number of refrigeration units on the performance of the new system were studied.The results showed that:both the cooling power and the temperature span increase proportionally with the increase of the input current.For different input currents,the op-timum COP corresponds to different utilization factor.The optimal utilization factor of refrigeration power and COP is found,and the optimal utilization factor of refrigeration power increases with the increase of input current.The cooling power and COP increases as the number of refrigeration units increases.The simulation results provide valuable reference for the mechanism and experimental study of the new magnetic refrigeration system.
