Recent Advances on Miniaturized Ion Trap Mass Spectrometry

  • With simple in structure,low vacuum requirement,high sensitivity and tandem mass spectrometry,ion trap mass analyzer has played important roles in modern biological and chemical analysis.In order to improve the analytical performance of ion traps and meet the emerging analytical needs,various new ion trap techniques have been emerging based on the mature ion trap theory.In particular,ion traps have been more and more widely used by miniature mass spectrometers and are beginning to play an increasingly important role in field analysis Mainly focusing on new operation modes,structure designs and expanded functions of ion traps,this paper reviewed the new developed techniques for ion trap mass spectrometry in recent five years.
