Drift Tube Leak Detection of CSNS

  • The drift tube is the core component of the Drift Tube Linear accelerator (DTL) for China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). There are 153 drift tubes and 8 half drift tubes in the whole DTL to provide longitudinal acceleration.In this paper,two methods of helium mass spectrometer and quadrupole mass spectrometer are used to study the 12#drift tube.Firstly,the leak point of the drift tube shell is determined by leak detection.Then,the coil leakage was determined by the method of coil energization and water pressure.Finally,after removing the drift tube shell,the leakage was checked again and the cause of the coil leakage was determined.The leakage results of 12#drift tube have certain reference significance for the subsequent machining,welding and leak detection of other drift tubes.
