THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE VARIABLE EMITTANCE THERMAL SUITE

  • Venetian blind radiators can be replace by the variable emittance thermal suite in thermal control system of spacecraft, and it is one of key technologies for microsatellite. Its status is synthetically introduced. The basic principle and properties of electrochromic devices, electrostatic radiators, micro-machine (MEMS) louvers and thermochromic devices are described. The developing trend of the variable emittance thermal suite is discussed.
