ITER PROGRAM AND THE FUTURE OF NUCLEAR FUSION RESEARCH

  • ITER(International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) is a planning international Tokamak reactor designed to demonstrate the feasibility of the full dimensions controlled nuclear fusion technology. The project, currently the largest international big science cooperation program,is funded by the EU,United States,Japan,China,Russia,Korea and India.Participants will learn and accumulate the developing technology of the large nuclear fusion reactor,as well as training talents.Participating in the ITER construction and operation,Japan,China are intended to shorten the distance between themselves and the forefront of the international nuclear fusion research,to build their own fusion DEMO reactor in the future, and eventually nuclear fusion energy for commercial application coming true.
