REVIEW ON FABRICATION PROCESS OF THE ABSORBER LAYER OF THE CIGS THIN-FILM SOLAR CELL

  • CIGS thin-film solar cell promises a bright future to the PV market due to its high optical absorption coefficient, high conversion efficiency, and high stability. The efficiency of small-area CIGS thin-film solar cell is up to 19.9% now, which is comparable to the efficiency of multicrystalline silicon solar cell (20.3%). The efficiency of large-area CIGS thin-film solar is in the range of 10%~15%, which varies with the components of each layer and its fabrication process. This paper reviews the fabrication processes of the absorber layer of the CIGS thin-film solar cell and its developments of industrialization.
