MEASUREMENT FOR THE PLASMA PARAMETERS IN THE DISCHARGE CHAMBER OF ION THRUSTER

The working process of ion thruster and basic principle of the electric probe measurement are introduced. It presents the design of an experimental device that can be applied to measure electron temperature, ion density of the plasma in the discharge chamber of ion thruster by double probe method. The plasma parameters of discharge chamber are measured. The correlations between plasma properties and thruster parameters have been established successfully.
