RESEARCHES ON STRUCTURE AND PERFORMANCE OF ELECTROLESS Ni-P-PTFE COMPOSITES

  • The effects of heat treatment temperature on the microstructure, adhesion and hardness of electroless NiPPTFE are studied by the advanced analytic technologies such as scanning electron microscopy,Xray diffraction and so on.Selfmade multipurpose friction and wear testing equipment and ultrahigh vacuum simulator are used to investigate the tribological performance and weldability of the coating. The results show that the NiPPTFE composite coating is characterized by an amorphous structure, the complete crystallization occurs above 400℃,within the testing temperature, the hardness and adhesion properties of the coating will be improved following the increase of the heat treatment temperature, the wear resistant time is similar in atmosphere and vacuum, the cold weld will not appear in ultrahigh vacuum. The coating can be applied to the space environment.
