SELECTION FOR THE PROCESS FOR LIQUEFACTION PLANTS OF NATURAL GAS

The characteristics of cascade cycle, mixed-refrigerant cycle and ex pander cycle are introduced, the key factors in process selecting are discussed, and the suitable processes for onshore small and mid-scale plants as well as offshore floating plants are analyzed. These analyses reveal that the expander cycle is not only suitable for small-scale onshore plants, but also the best choice for offshore FPSO plants. The improved multi-stage MRC cycle is most suitable for mid-scale LNG plants.
