Abstract: With the progress of space science,manned spacecraft,deep exploration,data describing long term materials performance under exposure to space environments has accumulated gradually over the past four decades.The first-hand data of environmental effects on materials could be got by materials flight experiments.Such data are critical to provide appropriate guideline for the design of space vehicles and associated equipment.This paper is intended to introduce design,content and scheme of the typical materials flight experiments.
