考虑电荷交换的栅极区离子流数值模拟

NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF CHARGE EXCHANGE IONS FOR ION THRUSTER

  • 摘要: 使用基于嵌入式有限元质点网格与蒙特卡洛(IFE-PIC-MCC)的三维等离子体离子模拟程序,模拟离子在离子光学系统中的运动。计算了离子密度的空间分布,加速栅极上的冲击电流,加速栅极下游表面及孔壁的腐蚀。计算结果表明:加速栅极的腐蚀主要来源于交换电荷离子;由于交换电荷离子对加速栅极的冲击作用,加速栅极下游表面会形成"坑"形腐蚀,加速栅极孔壁会形成"凹槽"形腐蚀。数值仿真为离子光学系统的设计提供了有效手段。

     

    Abstract: Based on Immersed Finite Element Particle-In-Cell(IFE-PIC) and Monte Carlo collision(MCC) method,a three dimensional numerical model is adopted to investigate the plasma flow and the kinetic characteristics of the charge exchange(CEX) ions of ion thruster.The simulation results reveal the ion density distribution and impingement current distribution of erosion depth of the downstream surface and aperture on the accelerator grid of the optical system.It is indicated from the simulation results that the CEX ions originated in the downstream region of the optics are the main reason of the accelerator grid current and the erosion on the downstream face of the accelerator grid.The erosion pattern agrees with the"pits and grooves"erosion pattern.The numerical simulation provides an efficient tool to design ion thruster optical system.
