磁体几何尺寸对环形会切场离子推力器性能影响研究

STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF MAGNET SIZE ON RING-CUSP ION THRUSTER'S PERFORMANCE

  • 摘要: 不同直径的离子推力器系列产品,为磁场约束等离子体设备,磁路结构对于离子推力器性能有重要影响。文章介绍了利用有限元模拟软件MAXWELL对不同尺寸磁体产生的磁场位形进行模拟,进而研究不同磁体几何尺寸对离子推力器性能的影响。结果表明在闭合磁场等值线固定为50 G的前提下,较大厚度/宽度比的磁体产生更大的无场区体积,有利于离子推力器束流平直度的改进,从而提高离子推力器的性能。

     

    Abstract: Series of ion thruster product with different diameter,as a kind of magnetic field confining plasma equipments,magnetic circuit has important effect on the ion thruster's performance.In this study,finite element software MAXWELL was used to simulate the magnetic field topography produced by different size of magnet,then the effect of different size of magnet on the thruster's performance was studied.the obtained results indicated that,when the maximum value of the closed magnetic contour was kept 50 G,larger thickness-to-width ratio magnet has produced larger field free region,and this was good to the thruster's beam flatness,thus the thruster's performance could be improved.
