自动NPE锁模飞秒激光频率梳研究

Investigation of Automatically NPE Mode-locking Femtosecond Laser Frequency Comb

  • 摘要: 基于非线性偏振演化(NPE)锁模技术的光纤光梳具有脉冲宽度窄、光谱覆盖广、重复频率高、相位噪声低等诸多优点,然而,由于锁模稳定性不好,该技术逐渐在工程应用中被非线性放大环形镜(NALM)和半导体可饱和吸收镜(SESAM)锁模技术取代。为了扩展NPE光纤光梳的工程应用范围,研制了具有自动锁模功能的NPE掺铒光纤光梳,采用电控偏振控制器和自动锁模电路实现光纤激光器的自动锁定,锁模脉冲宽度90 fs,重复频率101.5 MHz。采用共线式f-2f自参考技术测得40 dB的载波包络相移频率fceo信号,并采用上混频与64分频相结合的方式将fceo锁定至20 MHz,锁定精度1.5 mHz。通过锁定40次谐波的方法,利用自研的重复频率调节机构实现重复频率frep锁定,锁定后的频率精度为199 μHz。

     

    Abstract: Fiber optical combs based on nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE) mode-locking technology have many advantages such as narrow pulse width, wide spectral range, high repetition rate and low phase noise, but due to the problem of mode-locking stability, they are gradually replaced by nonlinear amplifying loop mirror (NALM) and semiconductor saturable absorber mirror mode-locking technology in engineering applications. In order to expand the engineering application region of NPE fiber optical comb, an NPE erbium-doped fiber optical comb with automatically mode-locking function was developed and the automatic locking of fiber laser oscillator was realized by electronically controlled polarization controller driven by automatic search circuit for mode locking, with a mode-locked pulse width of 90 fs and a repetition rate of 101.5 MHz. The 40 dB carrier-envelope offset frequency fceo signal was measured by collinear f-2f self-reference technology, and the fceo was locked to 20 MHz by combining up-mixing and divide-by-64 with a locking accuracy of 1.5 mHz. By locking the 40th higher harmonic, the repetition rate frep lock is realized by the self-developed repetition rate feedback mechanism, and the frequency accuracy after locking is 199 μHz.
