Abstract:
The thermal stress analyses of the triangular and the trapezoidal threaded-adhesive joints applied in the non-magnetic Dewar were conducted and compared using the ANSYS software.The results showed that their thermal stress distributions were very similar.The serious stress concentration occured around the adhesive fillet at the adhesive free end of the lower threaded-adhesive joint of the inner shell.The von Mises stress of trapezoidal threaded-adhesive joints is slightly higher than that of triangular threaded-adhesive joints,but the difference is very minor.
